Psych Christmas Spectacular

The Psych Christmas Spectacular was just that...Spectacular.  If you are a fan of Psych and have waiting since early summer for another episode then you are in luck.  The Christmas edition aired Friday, December 7 and the 3rd season will be beginning in mid to late January.

In this episode, Shawn and his father are invited over for Christmas dinner at Burton household.  Gus's parents think lowly of Shawn and have low expectations of Gus so the duo has set out to impress them.  While out caroling, they discover that the least liked neighbor, old man Fuller, has met quite a tragic end and is swinging from the rafters in an apparent suicide.  Shawn then uses his detective skills to prove that it was more than just suicide and that a killer is on the loose.

Come to find out, Gus's parents stood to gain a lot from the demise of their neighbor and are prime suspects.  Shawn and Gus set out in an adventure of hilarity that will lead them to investigate a world of blackmail, steamy love affairs, insurance fraud and, of course, murder.

As a secondary story, Shawn and his father have a annual bet going every Christmas.  They each buy each other a gift and the other has to figure out what theirs is first.  Shawn has won every year except for the Christmas of '92 which was  a draw.

After their names are cleared, Gus' parents pay Shawn off to keep an eye on their son whom they believe is incapable of taking care of himself.  I don't know why, a pharmaceutical salesman is a very sought after and desirable career.

Be sure to check this episode out on USA's Website and watch out for Season 3 this winter.
